ID the gigantic oscillograph in this 1943 Navy training video
RedPlateAl:
Greetings from Holland
I recently came across this WWII era US Navy training video on YouTube. I'm sure all vintage gear lovers are guilty of watching these in private from time to time. But if you watch this one though, at 17:21 mark you will be confronted with this:
Massive, isn't it? From what my vintage MKI eyes can see, the front panel says Cathode Ray Oscillograph. I couldn't find anything about it on the interweb. I'm hoping one you fine gentlemen can solve the mystery. The fact that I cannot find anything about it on the web only exacerbates my fear that this very chunky old boy might be long gone, scrapped for parts, buried in a landfill or even worse forever lost to time all together. I imagine not many were made and given their size probably not many if any were adopted as mil surp, like a good old St Bernard in a shelter :palm: I hope someone will assure me that a friend of a friend has one, or there is one in a museum somewhere, or perhaps someone in the forum has run into one in the wild (not literally I hope).

This has a Supreme Instruments aesthetic. Not sure though...

Look around 9:50 mark, it seems the guy holds metal clips with 800V in his hands!

Doesn't even flinch, they don't call them the greatest generation for nothing.
