Hi guys,
I own an IFR COM-120B service monitor and from what I've heard, it has the DS1286 NVRAM chip with internal battery which will go out and you lose your options. Haven't turned on mine since 2014 when it was working fine but I plan on using it in a few weeks. My questions are :
1. Does any of you know if (and how) can the contents of the DS1286 be backed up if there is still enough battery voltage left on the battery?
2. If wiring an external lithium battery to pins 21/25 will maintain the data even if the internal battery goes out?
Thank you.
