Title: Interchangeability of Tektronix passive probe tips
Post by: RAndres on August 17, 2018, 05:34:25 pm
I bought a few used P6106 probes without tips from eBay, and am trying to find out which tips work with them. I tried to search, but couldn't come up a good filter for this exact issue. There are part numbers for hook tips in the data sheet, and for other probes. I think the hook tips are fairly generic, but am not sure enough to buy some without knowing. Anybody know one to avoid, or ones that work? For that matter, can you recommend a place to get sets of adapters? I'm mostly going to need the hooks, minigrabbers, and whatever else is good for PCB work at low voltage.

If they are the same ( small) general type, they all seem to fit.
In fact, the "El Cheapo" ones will fit Tektronix & vice versa, although the "vice versa" is usually a more secure fit.

Tek has three sizes of probes, with generally interchangeable accessories with others of the same size:

I've used the 5 mm hook clips on the 3.5 mm probes, but it might put extra strain on the tip.
