| Is this oscilloscope a great deal? 250Mhz 4 channel for $~550? |

Its probably obvious but I'm a noob looking to buy my first scope. I've watched Dave's vids on scopes for entry level, and see him recommending mostly 50Mhz 4 channel scopes. I noticed this one at 250Mhz / 4 channel for relatively cheap. For that money you can get better scopes from Rigol, Siglent or GW-Instek. |

Not a good deal. 250MHz sounds impressive but 1GS/sec isn't enough to sample 4 channels correctly (it breaks the Nyquist limit). 1Gs/sec is really only enough for 100MHz@4 channels. 64k samples is also pathetic. Once you go much above that you start to have big problems with probing. Even at 200Mhz you can't simply poke your probe at a component and expect to see a good signal. |

For less than 500$ you can get a 4 channel scope that has 2x1GS/s (it has 2 ADC) and will go to 200Mhz for real. And is also more advanced and better product. |
