Hey,
Recently moved back to the EU from the US, and so I've sold my 110V analog Weller which served me okay-ish... Due to the way Wellers are ridiculously overpriced for their capabilities, I have looked into other brands, and there seems to be an agreement that JBC is the best in terms of thermal stability...
I did find an acceptable supply of JBCs at Weidinger... and now I'm trying to figure out whether I should buy the analog (BT-2WA) or digital (CD-2BD) station. I could afford the digital one, I just don't know whether I want to afford it, since the price difference is about 150 Euros. I could spend that on a lot of cool stuff.
Has anyone used the BT station?
How does it compare to the digital one? I'm not sure I can make meaningful use of the USB connectivity and similar stuff, the main question is whether there's a difference in thermal performance, tip compatibility, and useful bells and whistles like auto-sleep and the automatic tip change mode, or in terms of build quality... I see the brass wool holder on the BT is made of plastic.

I cant see any difference in soldering performance between the CD (at work) and an old AD2700 (at home). Temperature setting on the digital one is much more annoying ("Hold Tool to change Temperature" and slow, so i actually prefer the analog.

That looks like a Weidinger special of an AD2700. I prefer those to the digital stations. The handpieces, and I think the power levels are the same, so it all depends on whether you like to push buttons or turn knobs.
