Title: JBC DD-1B Temp Sensor?
Post by: imzack on September 25, 2020, 09:37:09 am
I have a JBC Soldering Iron (DD-1B) and its giving me a Error 11 "Error Sensor Temperature Transformer"
https://www.jbctools.com/dd-1b-2-tools-control-unit-product-157.html# (https://www.jbctools.com/dd-1b-2-tools-control-unit-product-157.html#)

I have taken the device apart, and can't for the life of me, find the temp sensor.

I saw this post:  (Reply 26)

Where is sounds like the sensor is on the transformer (LM335?); but I have taken it apart, and can't see any IC's there either.

Does anyone know what board its on?  (Only two boards on the unit)

Thanks!

the transformer carries a PTC (thermistor) inside the secondary winding. In order to see it, you must remove the plastic that covers the windings. If you don't have a replacement thermistor, just put a 2.2k resistor in its place. it will work but it will no longer do the protection function. lucky
