| Jumpy Oscilloscope Encoders: Another way to fix them |
| (1/1) |
| TomC:
After reading some of the other posts on encoder problems, I decided to try a different method when faced with barely usable encoders on my OWON SDS7102. This method requires removing the encoder board and drilling tiny lubrication ports on the encoder's body. Then allowing a few drops of Deoxit to go inside followed by turning the encoder back and forth a few times. It's been a couple months since I used this method and my encoders are still working as good as new. Note: If you decide to try this method, be careful when you drill, go slow and stop as soon as you go thru the plastic body. Otherwise you may damage the contacts inside. |
