Looks really good, much nicer than the pure blue. Now you're tempting me to buy a K2000 meter to add to my keithley pile :palm:

The display available here for $79: https://hubequip.net/products/keithley-2000-2015-2016-2010-vfd-display-replacement-led-display-conversion-kit

and on ebay for $89 https://www.ebay.com/itm/326836185343

Dimmog, can you recommend the specific nail polish remover brand you have verified? Most regular ones are almost 100% acetone. We don't want to ruin the lens.

Modifying the display window is straightforward and takes about 20–30 minutes.
The process is explained in detail in the instructions, which also list the recommended products.
A printed step-by-step manual is included with the kit.

Please check the attached file.

It appears that this display is also compatible with the Keithley 2182 and 2182A nanovoltmeters.

I received my units today, now wait for the nail-polish remover and see how the end result will be.

Will post some photo's when done.

Looks good and bright enough as-is; do you need the nail polish remover?

Yes you do need it, the new display is wider than the original.
If you put a LED cob light under the display you can see what you have removed, that works a lot better than nothing.

Edit added photos of led backlight so you dont use too much aceton.

It is far better readable, the digits are a lot bigger and brighter then the original. (mine was worn out)

added bonus I can now read it without reading glasses, this helps a lot when probing under the microscope and then you look at the meter to read the value.

It also appears that the display is only partially compatible with models like the 2700, 2701, and 2750, as they have slightly different annunciators.

Will you be making a mod or another version for full compatibility with the 2701?

Thanks,
Josh

No, this series is pretty rare, and with the current low demand for the 2000 display, it just wouldn't be worth making.

What exactly isn't compatible? Does it work at all?

There's no mod you could do to make this one work?

It will work. The only difference is in the annunciators.

You mean the smaller words around the panel to display specific functions/alerts?

Is it possible to remove the plastic layer with the words on them? If you have the design with the correct coordinates, I have a laser. I could potentially make an alternate acrylic sheet with different wording.

Yes, a few words around the digits are different, and some are positioned differently. But electronically, it's the same display.

It's not just plastic layer. It's a diffuser with a black mask.

The diffuser/mask is what I would use the laser for. Are they layered in a way that can be separated, or all they all glued togother?

All received and fitted as best possible, without the polish (at this point, to be a future clean up)
Either way its bright and bold! First picture does not do it justice. My eye is a better camera!
Now it attracts regular use by being so beautiful and bigger!

The top diffuser film attached to the plastic display housing seems to have a double-sided print.

Interesting! I wonder if I can find that film. If so, it's probably doable if you have a SVG or something of the layout.

Thanks,
Josh
