Title: KEITHLEY 2000 MULTIMETER OVERFLOW with no input
Post by: Jester on December 05, 2016, 12:14:31 am
I noticed this Keithley 2000 on ebay:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/KEITHLEY-2000-MULTIMETER-/252659406882?hash=item3ad3ac9822:g:0oAAAOSwa~BYPaXm (http://www.ebay.com/itm/KEITHLEY-2000-MULTIMETER-/252659406882?hash=item3ad3ac9822:g:0oAAAOSwa~BYPaXm)

Seller claims it works, but I see no reason the display would indicate overload with no input, then again I have never used one of these. What do you think?

This meters have a very high input impedance so they typically build up some charge if they are not connected or shorted ... despite this I never seen those meters to go in overload especially if autorange is enable (and in this case it's enable).

There is bright light to take the photo but even taking that into account that is an awful dim display.
