Title: Keithley 2600 series LAN --> USB interface possible?

I have several Keithley 2600 SMU's which have on the rear panel a LAN port.  I'm attempting to make a common USB interface to all my lab instruments for automation purposes, and these older LAN-interface units are giving me a headache.     Has anyone out there successfully used a LAN-to-USB converter on one of these units?  I'm not sure if this is even possible ... protocols differ, data packets etc...but I'm asking here for more information.  If you've been successful, what is the hardware you used?  If you've not been successful, what were the technical hurdles that stopped progress?
