Can anyone help repeat the settings on this Keithley 2001 video?  I tried to repeat it but the steps are not clear.

How to do it was answered in the video comments by Illya.

"Just send GPIB command for resolution, :VOLT:DC:DIG 9; in case of VDC measurement mode. Key point is DIG 9. After this you can change modes, use meter as usual (in either remote or local mode), it will keep 8.5 mode unless switched back by menu (Resolution will be shown AUTO in this undocumented mode)."

Thats probably the 3rd yt comment I have ever read, heh. I didnt realize it was GPIB.

I found this reference on programming the 2001, has a script for the extra digit.

How do you get the min and max to appear with the display panel, or is that also not possible?

Is you enable the secret menu as described here https://xdevs.com/guide/keithley_secret/ then the 8.5 digits mode becomes available as one is the settings in the resolution menu. No GPIB needed.

I love that it's actually listed as "secret menu" in the firmware

It didn't work and then I watched it again, you have to do it while powering up. Once I did that, the extra digit showed up.

Played with this some more. No secret buttons or math function... press the display up and down button and different types of ranges will show. Was not aware of this feature. Pretty slick.
