Keysight 3000T. Mask testing and segmented memory
« on: August 05, 2017, 07:29:20 am »
Is there any way that you can use mask testing in conjunction with segmented memory on this unit. I would like to be able to set up a mask on a 240V mains waveform and then using segmented memory be able to closely examine each occurance of a failure, similar to what can be done with zone triggering etc.

And a follow up question, I cannot save a Mask (*msk) file to a usb. The 'file name' and 'press to save' soft keys remain dim and pressing them only brings up the "The selection is not available in this mode". I have tried with the cro in run and stop modes. Any hints?

Bumping this up the once on the off chance that Daniel, or someone else,  from keysight spots it on the list.

I should have also pointed out in the original post that the cro has the latest version of software installed (07.11) and it also comes with the full application pack minus the MSO.

Hi! Sorry, just getting back from vacation, thanks for the bump. I don't believe that the mask testing works in conjunction with segmented memory, and mask files should be save-able to USB. I'll double check with my scope and reply here.

I've confirmed that segmented memory and mask testing cannot be used at the same time nor would a software update make it possible.

I'm able to save a mask to USB with the latest firmware, can you try doing a secure erase and see if that helps? Also, make sure you have "usb" selected in the location. Finally, try a different flash drive?

If none of those work, can you post a pic of the issue?

Thanks!

Daniel, thanks for your response to this and responding to my follow up question before I even got to ask it. Well played :)

As to the issue of saving the .msk file I strongly suspect that there may have been a *cough* fair *cough* chance that there was a PEBCAK error involved somehow.

I've been around long enough to anticipate the software question :).  I'm glad the save is working now, PEBCAK errors are definitely the easiest ones to fix!
