Keysight bundle - missing licenses ? DSOXT3APPBNDL

(1/1)

EE-digger:
Can anyone with the DSOXT3APPBNDL tell me if it includes the following licenses?  Data sheets across several years say it should but my scope does not.

USB-PD
USB low speed signal quality
USB full speed signal quality

I'm wondering if these just did not make it in time to be installed with the bundle (2016 scope).

TheSteve:
I believe this was discussed previously. Additional features have been added to the license bundle over time.

LaurentR:
They are in that bundle. I assume upgrading your firmware should do the trick.

What isn't in that bundle is USB LS/FS decode, which is only available in the newer bundle (D3000BDLB)..

Like Steve said, this was discussed several times at length.

Short version?

Full bundle means one time activation of all the options at the time you BOUGHT a bundle.
It works by scope enabling licenses individually for all options available at that time.

As Keysight with years created new options, on your old scope they are not activated. They didn't exist at the time.
So with new FW, you will see new options as available, but those new ones will be unlicensed.

And as your bundle was one time activation, you cannot enable them afterwards with it.
You have to buy them.

How do I know? I asked Keysight Tech support about it.

Best,

Knowing it's been flogged in the past  :horse: I did a careful study before posting and know that once you buy it, that's all you get.

On all paper and according to LaurentR, it seems that the USB-PD should be present.  Firmware is up to date.  This one fell through the cracks, probably because of the 2016 build date.  The "about" screen shows the enumerated options and each has a license file present on the scope.

Daniel worked on this topic back when the topic was previously discussed.  The only change was the creation of the new "application specific" bundles.  These, like AERO, AUTO, etc. do need the latest firmware as that firmware will support new options added to the bundle.

Thanks for the replies.  I wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth.  As before, it's still too bad you can't update the options at low cost but low cost isn't on Keysight's marketing lips anymore.
