Keysight E5071C Network Analyzer option key
« on: October 11, 2024, 12:14:54 pm »
Hello,

Who can generate a key for a Keysight E5071C (Time domain 010) Network Analyzer?

Keysight no longer sells this software option, so it has to be done this way.

The serial number is: MY46525297

I never heard back from TS so I'm not sure I can generate the proper keys for this instrument.

I think that the time domain option is still available from Keysight for the E5071C VNA.

The 30 day trial is here:
https://www.keysight.com/gb/en/product/E5071C/e5071c-ena-vector-network-analyzer.html

So I think this analyser is still supported.

It's easy to generate the key code to unlock the TD option but I don't think Keysight will be that pleased if these keys become freely available here. This is because the E5071C is still supported.

If you go down into the configuration guides (https://www.keysight.com/us/en/assets/7018-01425/configuration-guides/5989-5480.pdf) you get this message:

The E5071C ENA and all associated options will be discontinued, and the last date this product can be ordered is May 31, 2021. For new product purchases, Keysight recommends the E5080B ENA Series Vector Network Analyzer (2- or 4-ports, up to 53 GHz). For more information, as well as to access to detailed migration guides, please visit: www.keysight.com/find/e5080b

Yes, as far as I can see the product is obsolete, which is a requirement for me to even try to generate keys, I will never touch current products.

Would you be so kind as to help me unlock the following on my old Agilent VNA N5230A?

Since this product is marked obsolete I can give it a try but I've never done this before for a N5230A. Do you have any options enabled so I can try to reproduce that key first?

Not that it matter much to me either way, but I think the E5071C is classed as discontinued but still supported.
So it probably has one more stage to go before Keysight declare it obsolete and unsupported.

Earlier this year I was still able to request a 30 day trial licence for one of the E5071C VNAs at work.

The older E5071B is definitely obsolete. :)
