Title: Kikusui PWR / PWR-01 series
Post by: theatrus on March 04, 2018, 10:06:12 pm
I very rarely run into anything by Kikusui, but these switch-mode bench-top supplies caught my eye:

http://www.kikusui.co.jp/en/product/detail.php?IdFamily=0143 (http://www.kikusui.co.jp/en/product/detail.php?IdFamily=0143)

Very wide ranges - for example, the 400W (smallest) model has a 0-40V/0-40A (!) variant, as well as a 0-650V(!)/0-1.85A variant. They even seem to list them on Amazon for direct sale, and the pricing isn't terrible (just under 1k) for the feature set. LXI, USB, simple front panel, and even some analog control functionality.

Anyone have any experience with these supplies or anything else in the family?

Kikusui kindly sponsored the open source lxi-tools project one of their new PMX series benchtop power supplies, the PMX35-5A to be specific.

I'm impressed by the performance and quality of the power supply. Assuming that the PWR series is of the same quality I would think it to be a good buy.

Fantastic. Love it when companies sponsor or contribute back to open source.
