I was about to pull the trigger on the SDS2104X Plus when I had second thoughts about its MSO's capabilities and reliability.
When I first started looking for new tools, the thing I wanted most was a rock-solid, fast and flexible 16 (or more) channel LA that could handle analog as well as digital and decode/trigger on anything I'm likely to run into in the microcontroller/maker universe.
The Saleae Logic Pro 16 seems to be the most loved and recommended option, but when I saw the price I decided to see what else might work, and found PicoScope. Like the Saleae, it can stream at USB 3.0 speed - I don't know if the Siglent can do this, but it's an important fallback.
Is there another USB device of similar quality to the PicoScope? I haven't found one.
Considering ONLY LA functionality, I'd like opinions on whether Siglent or PicoScope has better:
- Triggering on decodes/addresses/data
- Decodes
- Stability/reliability
- Operational flexibility
- Manufacturer support, especially software/firmware updates
Is there anything I should know about the LA functionality of these products?
If you've used one and not the other, what do you think of the one you've used?
Thank you!
