By any chance do you have a copy of 'HealthScan' as it is not

included
on the utility disk that I have?

Also if you have the cablemap/ID plugs 1 through XX could you use

a DMM to measure
the pins so that I can build some myself?

My 683 only came with cablemap/ID 0 plug, and this is what I

probed:

Insider the cable map are seven resistors connected between the

eight pins of RJ45 plug
so that each pin can be tested, and there is a link going from pin

1 to pin 8
that increases in resistance value.

Between pins 1 and 2 is a 19K ohm resistor, between pins 2 and 3
is a 16K ohm resistor.

Between pins 3 and 4 is a 15K ohm resistor, between pins 4 and 5
is a 15K ohm resistor.

Between pins 5 and 6 is a 12K ohm resistor, between pins 6 and 7
is a 12K ohm resistor.

Between pins 7 and 8 is a 10K ohm resistor.

Transmit data (TX) is on pins 1 & 2, Receive data (RX) is in pins

3 & 6.
So the resistance measured for TX pair is 19K ohms, while the

resistance
measured on the RX pair is 42K ohms (15K of pins 3&4 + 15K of pins

4&5 +12K of pins 5&6).

I think the total resistance between pins 1&8 (100K ohms) is used

for the ID function, but at this time I
don't have any other ID plugs to test this theory out.

Thanks if you can help.

Hi Menkelis,

I am happy to report I have identifiers 0,1,2,3,6 (similar small

form factor)
And identifiers 8,9,11,12 which are double-width of the other

small form factor identifiers.

You appear to be using the T568A wiring so that is what I will

use. I'm using a Fluke 45 for these measurements and am rounding

from the thousands to the tenths-

Hi Menkelis,

Do you still have the Fluke LANMeter Utilities 2.2 and the Latest software 9.5? If yes could you please upload it.
Unfortunately Fluke took it down from Fluke ftp sites. I would appreciate you help, I'm trying to upgrade my 686.

Thanks,

Hello,

I'm also looking for Fluke LANMeter Utilities 2.2 and the v9.5 software. I would appreciate any help, thanks
equx4567:
I just picked up a 686 LANMeter and was wondering if the firmware was the same between different models in the 68x series and if anyone had a link to download the utility and firmware for this model.
