Hello nctnico, I was replying to coordonee in my previous post. I understand we both have the same requirements. Your implementation was good enough, there is no questioning that. 6dB less still borders on an annoying scope. It doesn't bother you anymore with that little of a reduction? Your fan datasheet reported 36.5dbA compared to 45.5dBa from the Panaflo. The enclosure design no doubt plays a part but my guess is the other noise sources raising the noise floor too. My noise reduction also wasn't that impressive and I am thinking of maybe replacing the 92mm PSU fan and the CPU fan next. |

I also replaced the 92mm fan. I dug up my contribution to the big uphack thread: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/upgrading-mainboard-in-lecroy-dda-3000-(aka-wavepro-7300a)/msg2748842/#msg2748842 I don't use this oscilloscope a lot but when it is on, it is not sounding like a vacuum cleaner like it used to. |

Attached are the two halves from the 140mm fan mounting. they fit together like a puzzle to make use of the center screw hole. The thin webbing area is not a problem since the fan itself provides the rigidity. Recommended slicer parameters: solid infill, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer thickness, surface ironing turned on For PLA+ filament: 220 degrees Celsius nozzle, 50 degrees Celsius bed. You may have to modify the mounting hole diameters depending on if you use brass heat set inserts or directly tapping the plastic. I provided the original Autodesk Inventor 2020 files and the .step files which can be imported into any software. FreeCAD is decent enough to make the required changes and costs 0$. I used M3x0.5x8mm and M3x0.5x10mm button head cap screws (BHCS). I recommend using brass inserts with a soldering iron because M3 does not tap well in PLA unless you reduce the layer thickness to 0.1mm or less and pull back every couple turns to clear the flutes. |

Here exists already an 3D stl printing file as an adapter for the larger fans. Supporting gear as WM / SDA / DDA I use those already on 2 gears |

Hello hpw, can you link the post/ files here for people to download as well? |
