eevcandies:
Took a chance & scored an A6312 Tek DC-100 MHz current probe for a very decent $175, in very good physical shape, but completely non-functional (as stated).

I know the probe wiring can be touchy/prone to breaking.  Sure enough, inside the huge chromed connecter (easily unscrews apart), three rather thin (26 gauge?) wire's solder joints were broken at the connector pins.  However, I was confounded by the matchup between the pins & broken wires.  I dug high & low to locate any service info showing a color code or connector hookup...but no luck (does anyone have this info/link?).  Restoring them improperly could burn up the probe!!

Finally, realized I own a working A6302 (50 MHz) probe...and opened its connector up.  While its colors didn't completely duplicate the A6312's, there was enough matching to easily determine where my wires should go.   Got them soldered in a few minutes & everything works perfectly!

I recommend these probes to anyone and everyone in the electronics arena

Another save from the eWaste bin. Never had or used a HPAK scope and from today I have two, the picture below being the eWaste save.

Has some vertical sweep shrinkage, but suspect a quick fix.

Shock:
More of a tool score, was picking up an item and the seller had a Weller regulated soldering station in nice condition, came with 3 lightly used tips. But the kicker was an unused 500g spool of 62/2Cu/38 rosin core solder. Brought it all for a whopping $7.

The HP squashed screen is fixed, just changed the old electros for new ones and the would be eWaste scope is all good.

I rather like the user interface on this old HP. Just a quick screen adjustment and close it up.

bitseeker:
Nicely done, wolfy. Another one saved. Bad caps on the display board are very common in that series. I've got one that needs it, too.
