Lists of Rigol SCPI commands
Fred8:
Hello,
SCPI command are quite pratictal.
Within the Rigol Sigma interface, no problem with my DG822. But when using VISA in another environnement (Excel for me, as I just need some macros), it does not work, either if the VISA-COm reference is well activated in VBA. I don't know yet if the problem is more Excel/windows/VISA or DG822.
Do someone either used VISA SCPI commands in VBA ?
Thanks !

I dont know if this is the same issue or not, but on a Rigol RSA3015, SCPI commands don't return readable responses if you simply telnet to the appropriate port. However, if you use PyVisa, everything is OK. Maybe you could try that: it is very easy to write a simple python program using PyVisa to e.g. collect values and write them to a CSV file.
Fred8:
That's strange. Python must also use SCPI messages, not ? I first tried, in VBA, with le VISA-COM lib installed with the rigol Sigma. It was VISA-COm rev 3.00 if I remember. Then I tried with more standard NI-VISA drivers that installed VISA-COM rev 5.12. I have to facilitate a test-operator life that today has to configure his instruments 20 times for a test and note the reports in Excel. And...I do not have the skills in Python right now :-(

Hi,
... a little bit late: Trying to utilize the statistics measurement mode of my MSO5074, I found one more by guessing.
Not sure though if it is hidden for a reason as the readings are so far not conclusive. Anyway, here we go:
Setting the moving average window (in display: Measure -> Statistics -> Counter)
:MEASure:STATISTIC:COUNT
range probably [10..100000]
This one exists once for all up to 10 ITEMs
I am shifting the rest of the post to this new topic. Thanks RoGeorge for pointing out!
Rigol MSO5000: Observation / Issue with statistics module
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-mso5000-observation-issue-with-statistics-module/
-------------- snipp ---------------
The issue I am observing with statistics that the reset does not completely reset for larger time base settings e.g. 1 sec / div.
So after a
:MEASURE:STATISTIC:RESET
I am waiting until
:Measure:Statistic:Item? Cnt, VRMS
reaches the value of above COUNT, so I know the window is full.
(and yes, the Cnt comes back as a scientific E-notation float, but should be int)
While waiting, I can see on the display that the first [1..5] values in the statistics box are still from the previous
measurement (from before the reset).
So, when next calling
:Measure:Statistic:Item? AVerages, VRMS
the average is wrong.
Maybe off-topic. Could you please just send a short ping if an answer is known and we open a new topic for it?

Welcome to the forum. :)
Yes, don't hesitate to open a new topic.
Since your question is not about the list of all commands, but about the functionality/bug of a specific command, the question should be asked in a new topic. The EEVblog forum guidelines discourages off-topic/topic-hijacking.
