LiteVNA64 Firmware
« on: April 08, 2022, 05:25:06 pm »
I searched around for the latest firmware for the LiteVNA64 but can't find anything specifically pointing to the LiteVNA64.  Do I use the DFU mode to do it?
Thanks,
Bill

You should have the NanoVNA App installed and the latest firmware file downloaded on your PC.

Start the app and leave the LiteVNA64 off. Connect the LiteVNA64 to the PC via USB. Power up the LiteVNA64 while holding down the thumbwheel. Then drop down the connection port list on the app and select the correct COM port the LiteVNA64 is connected to. A dialog box should pop up and ask if you want to upgrade the firmware. Click the file folder icon on the top edge of the dialog box and select the firmware file you already downloaded and voila.

Also, you should join the Groups.io beta software thread [nanovna-beta-test] as many changes do not automatically make their way to the Google drive hosted by the hardware maker. The beta version I am using currently is v1.2.08 which is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WshkOyHRxJBzSbyC8ytuaBNpTQYVA483/view?usp=sharing

Good luck.

Got it downloaded and the VNA turns on, but the menu doesn't respond as it should, i.e. Back selection doesn't work.  Instead of taking you back it makes selections.
Menu is a lot different than my old firmware.  Can't find Cal data either.  Confusing.

The latest version works well for me. Over a short few months, the FW has evolved quite a bit with many new functions added. You may have to re-do the touchscreen cal. I remembered doing it a couple of revs back but if all else fails, just load the version from the Google Drive.

Is the old firmware erased automatically when you update?

I spoke too soon.  Now it won't turn on after I did a calibration.  Worked fine before I did the calibration with the new firmware.

Touch wood - mine has never not powered up, regardless of FW version. Perhaps you should leave the USB plugged in to charge the battery  it may be as simple as that.

Also, there is a PCB mod to turn off the red LED when the charge is full so you know when you actually have a full charge.
