Wow, up until now I thought an Agilent-Like scope from China was called a Rigol!

Now it looks like Agilent has created another Rigol. Damn American companies need to stop being greedy and start making their products in their own country so they quit making new companies coping their products.

Boy, that's ugly. There's no way the screen is 800x480 (no resolution listed in the specs). Plus a whopping 24k per channel. ;D

hey

first - I want to vomit   :wtf:

second - in my opinion rigol is not chinese , rigol is the US presentersin china  ( Kiethely yokogowa and Yamaha are good chinese companies which in my opinion are high end and some good value per $$ )

rigol is some good company - they are good competitors and high value in my opinion

unlike the others "chinese" stuff witch I call garbage !

take a look at the iphone 4S fake and stuff like that , they cost nothing , and also worth nothing ,

BTW - to make it clear , I am galaxy guy :)

I think both Chinese and Japanese companies wouldn't really like you mixing them up together (Yokogawa & Yamaha = Japanese / Keithley = American)  ;)

Yes, thinking of them at this point as an Agilent-imitator is pretty ridiculous. The DS2000 and DSOX2000 are only alike in the bandwidths offered and the relatively similar maximum update rates. In virtually every other way they are significantly different.

yup sorry for mixing them up , stupide ADD  :palm:

anyhow , the rigol 2000 series and agilent's 2000 series are the same price range , BW , and many other things , aside of that the rigol gives you some advanced stuff , like that neat rotary encoder for scrolling the recorded waves  :-+

Damn consumers need to stop being so greedy and realize that in order to support a company and its research and development they're going to have to pay more money then for some copycats Chinese products.

power supply in a scope? That's unusual and not sure if a good idea, considering the average chinese PSU construction and the noise it will generate.

Maybe it is the power supply input for the scope!  :P :P  :-DD :-DD

From the specs (aside from the sample lengths), it really sounds as if they've cloned Agilent's MegaZoom ASIC.

Do you believe it???

And this JC1000 series seems to be inspired by LeCroy WaveJet and a bit by Tek TDS220

Well, I have never heard about a chinese scope with cloned ASIC... They use a cheaper FPGA instead.

Cloning an ASIC doesn't necessarily mean creating another ASIC.

Memory depth:  24K, 1M, 2M per channel / 24k, 1M, 2M points on each channel
Weighs 3Kg
Power ~30W

Would be interesting see it working! But can not find any review or video.
And logic analyzer specifications?  :-//

An FPGA to emulate a complex ASIC would likely be a very expensive one (not counting development cost) - an ASIC uses silicon area efficiently, but because FPGAs are general-purpose, there will always be some unused silicon area which you are still paying for.
If it was possible to get the functionality with a cheap FPGA, why would they have spent a fortune developing an ASIC?

Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

And don't forget that unique (literally) edgy design they recently have been giving to all their products lately. They are trying to say they are not copying Agilent, they are not copying Tek; they are Rigol.

But hey, at least they are not making a hilariously ridiculous copy of Agilent's product.

Well, unlike their new DSOs, AWGs, and Spectrum Analyzers (which I think are well-designed and look great), their new Power Supplies look as if they've been done by a completely different design group - or at the very least - with a completely different design philosophy.

I do agree the other stuff (scope etc look very nice, excellent in fact). But that power supply is like a pizza that won't stay down.
