Looking for handheld Signal Generator with Vpp >20V
« on: December 09, 2021, 06:25:01 pm »
Hello,
I am looking for a handheld Signal Generator with sine wave, up to 75 Hz and Vpp > 20V, 25-30V should be sufficient.
I have a Fluke 741, but it only goes up to 10V. My cheap Chinese Sig Gen goes up to 20V, but it is not enough.

Does someone know a solution?

Many thanks.

I'm not sure what your application is, but you could experiment with running a transformer in reverse to step up the voltage.

An amplifier, and if you need portable/hand-held you would need to make a box with a 12V battery in it.

A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

It is to calibrate a RPM indicator which is connected to a Tach Generator. The indicator measures the frequency, but increases the minimum voltage with higher frequency. That is why 20Vpp is not enough, I need a bit more.

It has to be a solution out of the box, as it will be used in the field.

That seems to be a solution, thank you.

You can try any small line transformer with two 110V coils and use it as an 2:1 . (Spartrafoschaltung)
little box with cable in and out as rugged as you build it and no additional powersupply needed :)
if you don't need low output impedance, small audio transformer are cheap..
