Looking for R&S CRTU Operating Manual
« on: June 21, 2023, 07:47:00 am »
Hi,

Would anyone be able to share with me the Operating Manual for the Rohde & Schwarz CRTU? I looked in all the obvious places and fora, and while the Service Manual for this device is all over the place, I cannot find the operating manual...

I also understand that this operating manual is also present in digital form on the Windows 2000 HDD partition within that device.

There might exist different versions of the Operating Manual for the CRTU-G (/S) and CRTU-W. But, as a start, any of these would help ;-)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Here you go...

For sure not what you are looking for, though.

The thing is, the CRTU is a device for mass-testing/quality control, which has the capability of running custom made test applications. In fact, it basically runs Windows 2000 and has drivers for the RF cards installed, which are then used by different apps. I am not even sure, which apps are shipped on default.

Regards,
Vitor

Well, did not want to bother people. But I'm looking into the way the IFIQ modules for the CMU200/300 (option CMU-B71) and for the CRTU (option CRTU-B7) are wired.

The IQ in- and outputs on the CMU200/300 are on a 15-pin sub-d connector on the back panel. I made an breakout box for that, but wonder whether the I and Q signals are mixed up in the manual.

I wanted to see whether the CRTU Operating Manual would be useful here. Now seeing that manual (page 2.10), I note that that the 15-pin connector has been replaced by a 9-pin SUB-D connector. Fair enough. But the pinout provided in that manual does not tell us where the I and the Q information is... Seems they mistakenly copied the pinout of the DATA CH1 connector just above, and forgot to put the right information for the IQ connector. That is not the first mistake I see in the CMU and CRTU manuals...  :-\
