Looking for sample oscilloscope pictures.
« on: November 30, 2024, 09:11:31 am »
Does anyone have any oscilloscope screen captures or screen shots of AC sine waves during a ground fault you're willing to share? I can't find any on the internet. Thanx in advance

What type of ground fault?

For what purpose; what do you expect/want/need to see?

Realise most scopes only work when safely and correctly connected to a working PME. Fully isolated scopes (e.g. Tek THS710) don't have that limitation.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Any for referencing. Although I have no issue with tripping a breaker or fuse, I do not want to risk damaging my scope. I scoured the internet and came up with squat. If you you have any examples with details, I'd appreciate it. I'm new with using scopes and trying to learn how to interpret the data. Although I have a general idea, it's good to have references.

You are dealing with high energy systems. That realisation alone should give you cause for thought.

See the safety and praxis references at https://entertaininghacks.wordpress.com/library-2/scope-probe-reference-material/ Carefully. Note that there is one example where an experienced engineer using a scope on the mains took precautions - and still killed themself.

Physics is unforgiving, and disregards both good intentions and what you thought.

No because I already have it. I'm the one who posted it. I'm not sure that's a short, fault or some sort of an interference. Hence the post...🤣🤣🤣

Care to give us a clue what that is referring to?

(The quote button to the top right of the post makes that easy)
