Siglent SPD3303x maintenance/calibration menu or access?
« on: December 26, 2017, 04:21:02 pm »
I have been very happy with the SPD3003x power supply.  However, the displayed vs measured voltage output (on one of the channels) could be a little closer IMO.  Anyone know how to access the adjustments or calibration functions?  I found if you power on the unit while pressing the ALL ON/OFF button you get a front panel/display test.  Not found any other magic combinations yet.

How large is the error you see ?

A quick jump around the Siglent websites doesn't reveal any Cal documentation but that doesn't mean it won't exist.
Give us some actual readings and we can shoot them through to the factory that BTW are working through and take their break in Feb.

Channel 2 is nearly spot on, + or - 1-2 mV.  Channel 1 actual output is about 12mV low from the set value at 15 volts, the output measured voltage is accurate, just low from the set value.  I'm sure there is a way to align the output with the set value, I'm sure there is also a way to calibrate the measured value as well (but not needed in my case).  Just not sure if there is a hidden maintenance menu or if this must be done with software via the Ethernet or USB port.

Just to check, is it an X or X-E model ?

And BTW, no load ?
Does the error change when loaded ?

I'll shoot this thread through to tech support and see how they can help you..

Its the high resolution 3303x.  The measured displayed value does not change with load in a significant way, I believe the CH1 output DAC is slightly misaligned with the actual output voltage.

Initial reply just specifies your unit is within spec.  ::)

This, I'm not entirely happy with and owners that experience this voltage indicator mismatch on the same channel wouldn't likely be satisfied with either.
In your case where 1 channel is quite accurate and another not so, there should be some adjustment/correction available to get V SET ~= V OUT.

Work in progress, further emails sent.

Has anything happened here?

I just got my 3303X-E that I did the 3303X mod to, works fine. I think things are in spec but could be improved, especially for 1mV settings. The set output is reasonable, the reading display could use some help. This is as compared to my Keithley DMM6500.

It's really not an issue, but if there is any service info, I would try and tweak it to be better.
