David --- End quote --- Just the same with the original white cable of the Weller WECP-20 . Replaced it with some black silicone cable (source no longer available) a while ago. Still going strong. :) --- End quote --- Strangely the older Weller irons never seemed to suffer this problem, can't remember the Antex or Pace irons having this problem either. Ended up transferring the heater/switch assembly to one of the broken older Weller irons. All gone now though, since work downsized the lab. They only have an Antex iron & Pace desolder station left, which hopefully will get replaced with a combined Metcal unit, as the Pace is getting knackered and a pain to maintain due to work refusing to buy from Farnell, the Pace ended up with the vacuum pump from a dead Weller, as the motors failed in two base stations. Bulk! Yes, so I can make a 10ft length! :-) Yeah... it's the older stuff. It never kinks, never melts, never breaks, never twists. Always finds the bad components and makes me sandwiches. |
