Lower continuity beeper volume on fluke 87-V?
« on: February 06, 2014, 05:19:33 am »
Anyone know if I could do this via settings, or perhaps there is a simple potentiometer I can adjust?

You can turn the beeper off using the "Power-On Options".

When the meter is off, press and hold the Continuity button, turn the meter on and wait about 2 second. The beeper will stay off until you turn the meter off, and then back on again.

See the User manual for more info, under the section on "Power-on"

Or you can hack it (reversible) in 120 seconds. Instructions here:

Just remember to remove the hack if sending it back to Fluke for warranty repair.

Or just leave it there until they realize it would be good to add the software setting.  :-DMM

I like the idea of quieting the beeper down but I wanted mine to be silent.

I'm adding a switch to disable the beeper sound, instead of a sound an led will flash.

I'm looking for the right switch still.

It would be nice to have a 2 part switch. A reed for inside and a magnet on a slider (sticky back) for the outside. No holes or destruction.
