All:
I have reviewed the manual, and spoken with an applications engineer at Keysight regarding the subject line. I just received a U1282A. The ambient temperature in the secondary display only reads Degrees C. My understanding is this is the ambient temperature collected from a sensor located inside the 1282A. The only time I am able to get the secondary display to read Degrees F, is when I turn the rotary switch to the TEMP position and press RANGE both the primary and secondary display Degrees F, but if I turn the rotary switch CW/CCW to another mode the secondary reverts back to Degrees C.
I have also gone into the menu and attempted to change the “Unit” from C - F to just Degrees F. No matter how long I press the SAVE button the change in this menu is not accepted, and I revert back to the default setting.
While reading the manual, I do see that changing parameters in the “Unit” menu may be restricted based on the country you live in. This multimeter was shipped from a major United States Keysight Vendor, to the United States, so I do not see how this restriction would apply to this Multimeter.
I am running Firmware Ver 1.05 which is the latest from Keysight. The application engineer I spoke to agreed this should not be happening, but wanted me to write my findings up so he could send it up to a higher tier of technical support. Before getting folks at the factory spun up on this write up, I wonder if anyone here can confirm what I am seeing? If so, were you able to overcome this issue, and how?
Thanks in Advance!
