Temperature drift measurements of precise analog stuff is a case where i would want to start it externally. So that you could once again have the scope working together with a climate chamber and for example characterize -3dB of a filter over temperature.
But this is probably a usecase that not many encounter in day to day life, so questionable if it is necessary in TestController. Having the SCPI command would be enough so that automation freaks like me would be happy  ;)

Once you have the SCPI command, you can run it from TestController (in the Commands tab) while other measurements are being logged.

I'd love to see what one of those plots look like for you.

Discussions about update rates being faster in dot mode made me want to try it on the Magnova. Here's some new Oscillospyrographs™ for you. ;)

Take a look at the update rates on the screenshots.

Thanks,
Josh

Good call with the commands tab. Once I used this measurement I will make sure to show it here. I hope that Andre77 might be able to give us a hint on how to start the Bode measurement over SCPI  ;)

Do we have an easy way to measure THD yet? Or is this a feature request? ;)

Thanks,
Josh

THD as measurement option would definitely be welcomed, I think that is a great idea.

Only thing I could not find yet is a way to start the bode-measurement with an SCPI command. Am I missing something?
We seem to have missed this one — thanks for pointing it out! As the Bode Plot section of the Magnova SCPI manual shows, this functionality is not covered yet. We will schedule it for implementation in the coming weeks.
SCPI commands for configuring the save options or simply one that executes a quicksave would also be very nice to have.
We will discuss, how we can make the Save/Load functionality accessible through SCPI commands. A currently available way to achieve automated quicksaves "in the process" is by using mask test pass/fail actions - perhaps this could already suit your scenario?

Thanks again for the suggestion. We actually already have this feature on our list and plan to work on it - although there are other features that will take priority over the next few weeks.

Andre77 is on well-deserved vacation for the rest of the week, but he sends his best regards. ;)

I already discussed SCPI Quicksave functions with Andre. Do you know when that will be implemented?

Thanks,
Josh

Yes, the SCPI command for quicksave in particular is already planned to be part of the next release.

Hi, does anyone know how to place area window marker for gated measurements via SCPI?

That sounds great, thank you for the information. Already looking forward to the next Update.

Btw. is there some Kind of Error log on the devices that the User can See? I Had my magnova crash two times (so that it did not respond to user inputs), although i haven't used it much yet (i own it since a week). Would be nice to see what i did to crash it, probably some Network stuff that i caused....

Hi,
thanks for reporting the issue. I have sent you a PM - crashes should not occur under any circumstances.
The logs are intended solely for support purposes and were therefore not designed to be directly accessible to users. We will, however, provide information on what caused the problem (with regard to your Magnova) once we have had a chance to investigate it further.

Best regards,
Florian

Dunno why I thought you were Italian.
Or a German Italian, or Italian German.
Or ‘just’ German.

Btw, they say that with wives also.
Good wives come in triple.
Or was it: the third wife is the best?

Thankyou. ;)
I took my Magnova to work once and showed it to my developer colleagues, who were impressed.
And now we've bought three for them.
For now. 8)

The big screen of Magnova allows also to arrange the scope probes properly to minimize cable mess with a plate attached to the left side. Not sure yet, if I like my solution in long term, but attached a photo with a first version.
The probes have a nice snap fit to the holders.

Martin72 sold 4 in fact implicitely - one to me :-)

Are there plans btw. to make a webserver frontend for the Magnova?
Not that it is super important.

I think Batronix would certainly find users (=me for example :-)) contributing that if ssh access is possible and local SCPI works.
