Hi, everyone, I have a MDO3024, that I hacked to MDO3054 thanks to this forum, I working with servomotors, they use resolver sensors or encoders for speed and position feedback, normally the resolver's calibration is based in put angle offset to zero, but some Moog servomotors only work fine with a offset from 8° to 20°. For this work, normally put in X vs Y mode the scope and I use polar cursor available in TDS3000 and MDO3000 oscilloscopes, even in GWinstek GDS2000E series and get a very closed value and servomotor works fine into machine.
The GDS2000E also has a math advanced mode even, includes arc tangent, arc sine and arc cosine, with Arc tangent, I get more easy the right offset value for resolver position, BUT tektronix hasnt this functions in its menu, I see datasheet, programing manual and I send a e mail to tektronix, their response was: you need a high series for get arctan functions.
Yesterday I playing connenct my MDO to testcontroller software, in math menu it has a edit box for put math expresions, I put atan(CH1) and I get atan in the scope, after I tried measure atan for get angles from resolver sensor finally I can it.
I attached some screenshots from scope, I hope this post can help to someone.
