I may have to disassemble mine because the cal ref level is off, and there is no menu option for adjusting it. If you have Gigatronics 8652A, do you know: What is its controller ? Is the rom outside the controller and is readable?

There is nothing to adjust there. Gigatronics calibrator ref level is set up by setting a CALFAC number. The older meters like 8541\8542 had access to this through menu:
MENU -> SERVICE MENU ->CALIBRATOR -> EEPROM -> SNumb (unit serial number) -> CALFAC change
but their calibrators were fixed 50MHz.

The newer 8651/8651 series apart from 50MHz also have a range of frequencies from 800MHz to 1GHz, option 12. So they may probably have two or more cal factors.
What I need is know is how to access, change and save the  CALFAC-s on the newer models. There must be an external programming protocol or hidden service menu or both.
The cal-labs calibrating these meters certainly know how to access the CALFAC-s.

Attached are the firmware v1.35 and v1.55 for Giga-tronics 8650A series (8651A & 8652A).
I don't own these instruments so all the help I can provide ends here.

@ picburner. Thanks a lot for the files.
@ romal 76. I have  8652A and I was also curious if it is possible to convert 8652A into 8652B. I only have schematics of 8540C, if you have something else, can you share ?

At https://web.archive.org/web/20071018084015/http://gigatronics.com/support/index.php?p=5 I have found that giga-tronics was distributing the utility to upgrade/reflash the firmware. Unfortunately, the binary is not archived. Someone has the file? I am desperately searching it since my 8651A is dead and everything seems ok. Thank you

I'm looking on photos of the Giga-tronics and HP sensors on eBay and looks like power meter connectors are the same. Is it possible to use HP sensors with Giga-tronics meter and vice-versa?

Thank you. Probably it is stupid question, but is anybody tried to repair probe with BAT24-02LS? https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-BAT24-02LS-DS-v02_00-EN.pdf?fileId=5546d46265f064ff016638964eed4e95
Of course, it will require to full recalibration but looks like it is possible as for me.

Is it possible to test measurement unit without sensor? I got one as broken. But I still haven't any sensors. The unit is booting properly. And allow to change calibrator frequency up to 1GHz while missing Option 12 lable on backside.

The old Giga-tronics website had available "V1.58.bic" firmware file for 8650A but that was not archived by Archive.org. Anyone has that firmware version? I am not sure if Spanawave released something newer since they don't even have an email address for contact. I see only phone numbers there...
