Maynuo M9712 - Remote control
« on: August 08, 2017, 12:08:20 am »
Has anyone here got the remote control working with guy?

I have the official rs232 adapter and it works perfectly fine with the supplied software, so I know serial port, cable, and device are good.  Looking thru the manual this guy is using modbus, which I'm fairly familiar with.  Just testing it out with modscan and trying to read a few registers, I'm not getting any response from the thing.  At least nothing that resembles a modbus response.  Following the example from the manual reading a holding register, I have modscan sending the exact string (01xh, 03xh, 0bxh, 00xh, 00xh, 02xh, c6xh, 2fxh), nothing back (00xh, 00xh) not even a modbus error response.  Switch to the Maynuo software, boom its up and displaying data.  Address is 1, set to 9600-8-n-1 in both modscan and Maynuo software.  There is a "Connect Mode" that has the options of MAXTIDLEXING or Standard, whatever that is.  Neither choice seems to effect anything.

Is there some secret knock to get this thing to start talking?

Plan B is sniffing out how the Maynuo software works with it.  Bit of a PITA, but should get'r'done.  Hoping someone here has already crossed this road.

Do'h... |O

Handshaking was the problem.

And in case your wondering the first thing their software does is read 3 holding registers starting with b04xh (Set Mode).
