Hi, some year's ago I got from school Metex MXG-9802A. It's very good frequency gen, but I would like to use software for it and discover it's potential. But it seem that it's quite old or Metex went under the soil. I don't know, do you guys have experience with this model and potentially software for it with manual? |

or under this name too Voltcraft MXG9802A Conrad MXG-9802 https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/manual-for-tenma-72-6644-function-genfreq-counter/ Tenma 72-6644 I think you need to find at least the rs232 commands in manuals and see if you can code something google search pop many user manuals but they lack pages, not complete ??? |

You can find the Conrad manuals (German is the most detailed) here and here. It was likely shipped with a floppy disk with software, but I didn't find an archive of that. Since the software required an IBM PC-compatible, it is likely for DOS, so it's doubtful you could run the software on anything resembling a modern PC. Conrad would sometimes have a protocol description on their website, but the product is long discontinued so there appears to be no trace of this instrument on their website. It appears to still be supported by the Abacom ProfiLab software, but I wouldn't recommend spending that kind money on this. |
