UT61E for £40 / $70
« on: July 02, 2014, 06:47:08 pm »
Hi Guys.

Based on some of the prices that I have seen for the UT61E, I found this one to be pretty cheap.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/XINTE-Intelligent-Multimeter-Detector-Instrument/dp/B00J7HK26Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_diy_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=110KHR1TZPXAGH0GRW54

The multimeter comes for £41.33 delivered, it came within two weeks shipped from China in the original box and unopened in amazing condition, from my initial but limited use, I have found very few issues with this meter, I also saw another listing on amazon for £92.

The only downside to the fact that it comes from China is the lack of warranty, which on the paper inside of the box; is only valid if the product is within China, however from the build quality of the meter I find it unlikely that this will be an issue.

Feel free to point out any issues with this.

Thanks.

Franky (iloveelectronics here on the forum) can probably sell you one for 55-60$, he's reliable, trusted by this forum, good guy (on holiday right now I think though) ...  and there's some sellers on eBay that sell it from 49-50$ and up with free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=ut61e&_sop=15

Franky stopped selling the  ut61e if I remember correctly.

Really? Why did he do that?

Margins got too tight on ebay. The downward pressure reached a point where it was no longer wish his time to carry it. When you factor in his service, the fact he eats the cost of lost meters, etc. You can see how the margins might be pretty thin.

Yea, I see that. Makes sense now. Ebay is just getting more and more ridiculous.

I'm not trying to put words in his mouth especially since he's not here to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he was still willing to sell to eevblog buyers just directly, so that ebay won't eat 10-15% of the overall price in fees.
Either way, giving him a private message won't hurt if you're interested... again, when he's back from holiday.

Yep Franky, every time, I bought mine from him, so do yourself and PM him, he sent mine really quickly to the UK it arrived in less than a week, one of my favourite meters here, Franky is very helpful and a pleasure to buy from, and very trustworthy.
If it's highly recommended, then  I'm not interested.
