Micsig TO Series (MY 2022/2023)

rvalente:
Hello mates,

not much have been said about the micsig TO new series (I guess late 2022?)
I'm looking for a general use portable scope, ID prefer with knobs but the TO Series looks to have a much improved HW vs the STO series

Does anyone knows if the TO2004 is upgradable or hackable to TO3004?

I've had a TO2004 for almost a year. It's my first digital scope after 50 years of analog so I can't compare it to others but it's working well for me.
I haven't touched my old TEK 7603 since. I also bought the DP750-100 differential probe and the CP503 current probe. I notice on their webiste they have
discontinued the UPI probe interface on the TO series as of this past July. Not sure what's going on there.

from the website:

Universal Probe Interface (UPI)

* All TO & ATO series oscilloscopes manufactured after July 5, 2023 are no longer have the UPI, only standard BNC interface.

The UPI can supply power to Micsig's active probes, such as CP503, CP1003, DP750-100, RCP500, and can configure the probe attenuation ratio with oscilloscope automatically.

edit:  I don't miss the knobs at all. Everything can be controlled by mouse. I use a wireless mouse, so it's just like another computer screen.

That's weird if they ditch their quite new UPI standard this fast for their lower-end STO & mid-tier TO-models.. been any issues?.

Then it seems it will mainly be their flagship ETO & ETO v2 with knobs that have Misigs proprietary SigOfit interface, but seems these models sofar is China-only..
In regards to all-tablet, and no knobs, im kind split on it, as Micsigs UI is very touch & mouse optimized but I keep going for the knobs, when it comes to adjusting, need that dialing feeling etc... when going for the top & floor menu, I tend to swipe on the screen but I do constantly have a mouse in the main scopebag, alongside one of these Xiaomi mouse aluplates, but in lack of bluetooth, you need one with USBdongle,

as dmeek mentioned above, their statement.

I notice too that the current probes that have the UPI interface have been discontinued. Mine has been working OK. I hope it's not because of an inherent design flaw.

Yep,also what I was wondering about, but so far people's feedback has been positive as far as I can tell, though not always easy to decipher, fx which Youtuber has been greased with these products for promotion alongside having an incentive to profit from affiliate links etc, and who put their own hard-earned money behind it.

A shame, they ditch it, as it can't be cheap to produce such a standard and then just use it, for only +1year, I doubt Micsig will be open about it, if there are issues with the standard, though can also just be cost, and not having to deal with two proprietary Micsic probe interfaces. (SigOfit and UPI)

UPI was promoted as a universal interface, so perhaps it was intended that other vendors would jump on board..
