I'd keep the DS1054Z. It won't fetch much used and it is handy to have an oscilloscope with a different feature set. IMHO a >=500MHz scope from Agilent, Lecroy or Keysight is a nice addition even if it is a big boat anchor. I think the ones from Lecroy offer best value for money (unless miss Anderson's fans go crazy) and there are lots of them for sale so you don't have to worry about getting an extra one very cheap for parts.
miss anderson :haha: that thread is awesome
@NiaDebesis How much math and signal analysis can you do on the HMO? I have a lecroy boat anchor from the early 90's and because of that i'll get rid of it only when i can afford another lecroy
Why is awesome?
why lecroy is awesome:
i have a +25 years old scope. this is a modular scope with 2 modules, each module has two channels, 1 Meg points, 500 MHz, 1GS/s per channel (i can get to 2 GS/s in single shot, single channel via an adapter).
i can have up to 8 traces on screen, the data can come from inputs or saved waveforms or math.
math can be a total of four different functions within functions, the functions i can choose from is everything you can get from a scientific calculator and more.
you also have ERES, segmented memory etc.
pretty awesome IMHO. more recent (second hand) lecroys have more horsepower so you can get more wfm/s while still being able to do the same things or better
why that thread is awesome: pamela is

but maybe amusing is a better word?
