Title: MM700 Klein Tools
Post by: castironman on September 24, 2017, 03:44:17 am
These are pictures from the inside guts of a MM700. Unfortunately it is slow to auto range and very bad on resistance test as it takes a long time to come to a stable reading. So far it is head to head with my fluke 22 and Fluke 87 III in results. Continuity test is not latched but it is fast. Case is very sturdy and display easy to read with very nice back light. Came with alligator adapters, test leads, pouch bag and manual. I have it returned to store and replaced but the problems with auto range (2 secs) and the resistance test (4 secs)  are still there with the new one.
Thank you.

I know Uni-T makes (at least) some of Klein's meters but I'm not terribly familiar with Uni-T's models and designs.

I have a Klein CL700 clamp meter and it's impressive compared to my Fluke 324 clamp meter, it has more features and is comparable across all modes...I'm saying that as a Fluke fanboy that has 9 Fluke DMMs and gave up on other brands of DMMs.

I like fluke also, have  a few including a fluke 12 that refuses to die. But I have to say that, today the competition is catching up, may not have the same longevity and built quality, but Fluke should at least release some multimeters with equivalent features. I had a uni-t AM570 Amprobe with a real nice display that would look great on my Fluke 87-V.

They sure like placing components in interesting angles.

If it ever does die please let me know. I have one that needs a new housing.

That Fluke 12 is a nine little meter, I got started in electronics with one. All my meters now dwarf that little 12 by comparison, the 87V feels three times larger.

I know he has some Fluke 10 series meters with lcd rot and he cannot get lcd replacements.  As such. he may have some extra cases.  Offer to pay shipping and a nominal amount and he may go for it?

His guide on ebay regarding this series.
