Title: Multimeter Chauvin Arnoux model MAN'X 04B

I am looking for user manual this MAN'X 04B . Can anyone share this document ? I can not find button to adjust " zero " in mode Ohmeter . Thank and be grateful .

since you have posted elsewhere too,   why don't you open the meter take some photos to show the inside,

could be some resemblance to other models in the MX series

if the meter is flat on the table  does the needle is  zeroed on the mark ?

This forum has some scanned manual images of a slighlty different model named MAN'X TOP.

It's in french, so you might have to use some translation service.

According to the circuit diagram, there might be an internal trimpot for the ohms range. On the photo, there is one in the lower right and another one in the upper left of the PCB, if that photo I found matches your version.

Out of curiosity: What kind of battery does it take? A23 battery (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A23_battery)? Or is it size N (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N_battery)?

im native french     there is a warning about the fuse type, if its the wrong one,  the zeroing seems not possible or good ?

i would say  take measurements of the trimmers i see 4 ??,   and see witch one is related to the functions ?

There are four trimpots, indeed.

But before fiddling with any trimpots, you should assure that the battery voltage is correct. It doesn't look right from the photo you have posted. What value does the needle show in lowest ohms range with the input leads shorted? Is it too low or too high?


The MAN'X TOP was probably operated by 9 volts, but I'm not sure if this applies for your model, too.

The MAN'X 04b is probably built more like the MAN'X 02S model (no digital display, no opamps) which uses a single 1.5V AA battery.

Now, looking again at the picture and the size of the battery holder (which looks like it was taken from the 02s model, but simply cut in half) I'd guess the MAN'X 04b needs an 1.5V N battery...

Its original battery is 5.6 volt ( mercury battery ). I used 4 x 1.5v to replace . That means more 0.4 volt . Perhaps this difference make it more tolerance in range Ohm
