well, sorry for that.

but i saw a lot of people asking for updates en giving relevant information and no response from the original author.
thats why i found it ok to let other people update the list.

off course its your hard work and you deserve the credits.!

we'll have to be patient for now

It looks like the ABCs if DMMs link is outdated. Looks like it was referring to this, so here is an updated link: https://dam-assets.fluke.com/s3fs-public/1260898_0000_ENG_P_W.PDF

Shouldn't Fluke 87, 87III, 87V and 185 have the shade of their counts set to amber?

Update for spreadsheet
Keithley 196 which I recently acquired has ZBXO math functions .   The meter table shows it has nothing . This is a true sleeper meter in my opinion.  LED display is awesome.  Takes 2 hours to stabilize to full specs per manual. Current and ACV is 5.5 digits max (which is  not typical for 6.5 digit meters) but has excellent  low current ranges 300uA , 3mA,  30mA, 300mA, 3A!
Also has ohms compensation which is not common . Too bad it has no statistical functions as it would be perfect. Also can be  front panel calibrated and  saves to EEPROM . Each range can be re calibrated separately.

The  HP  3457A has MAND  not MND .  Average (Actually called MEAN on the HP) displays  8 digits and exponent  not sure how many samples can be used but have used recently with 41.3k samples when i stopped the stats function.

Update coming up shortly. Don't expect many changes. There have been very few new meters since the last upload.
Gossen meters new nomenclature will be updated and the amazing S IM Xtra will be included.

Wytnucls, thank you for this excellent and long awaited update.

A few remarks:
The UT61E goes up to 220mF and 200M\$\Omega\$

Below follows one additional meter that is 6200 counts.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Read the column notes at the top of the chart.
If the accuracy is 3% and above, or if there is no accuracy quoted in the manual, the range is disregarded in the database.
There is a note in the cell for the 61E mentioning the top range and its accuracy.

It seems that a new cheap and nasty meter comes out of China every week.
This T21-D from NJTY is no exception.
I will include it in the next update for the sake of completeness.

About counts: I realized that the Fluke 289 is 55000 counts.  I know that is declared 50000 everywhere, but it's measuring 5.5000V.  Some explanation?

Some multimeters list a slightly lower count than they have, you can see the real counts here: https://lygte-info.dk/info/DMMReviews.html

I have put together a PowerPoint presentation about the testing required for a multimeter to conform to the present regulations in the US and Europe.
It is based on multimeter regulations abstracts and Intertek testing documents.
Should you have relevant information that contradicts some aspects of the presentation, please post it here and modifications will be considered.

(Powerpoint slides have been saved as a PDF document because of upload restrictions)

Here is a PowerPoint presentation I put together about multimeter EMC testing, also saved as a PDF document.
It is based on published regulations and multimeter test reports.
Once again, should you have relevant information that you feel should be included in the document, please post it in this thread.

...If you feel I have left out some worthwhile DMMs, squawk here and I will try to include them.
All meters listed have a count of 6,000 or higher, have auto-ranging and are true RMS.
All meters (except MetraHit M30) must be able to test diodes, resistance, capacitance, frequency and current.
You will find green highlights for above average features and amber highlights for poor or missing important features...
I just got a Sunshine DT-17N DMM which ticks all of the above.

Appears to combine all the features of both the Thsinde 18B and 19B+ in one model (temperature and NCV functions).

It also uncannily resembles the Thsinde meters in looks.

Manufactured by Guangzhou Sunshine Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. in the People's Republic of China (who BTW also happen to own the Quick rework/soldering station and Relife flux brands):
https://www.exinxun.com/multimeter/ss-dt17n.html

A google search reveals that the DT-17N is quite popular in the value segments of the Asian and Latin American markets.

Unfortunately, the user manual is not available in PDF.

...Edited to add image of specifications printed on the bottom of the box:
