Rigol 'unlock" source code archive?

I'm trying to run the Win app from the 'source code archive' at http://gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/ on either a Win 10 or Win 7 machine.
When I open the app, I see a momentary flicker of what looks like a Command Prompt window, then nothing.
How do I get this app to run properly?

Reason.....
My understanding is that this archived app is another way to generate an unlock code....correct?
The unlock code I keep getting from the web page link repeatedly returns 'invalid license' on a new 1054z.
I'm wanting to see if the archive app perhaps gives a different code.

It needs parameters behind the riglol.exe file, you can see the output when you run it from a dos prompt/command window:

DP832 starting from v1.09 device options:
  first character:  F = official, B = trial
  F3PT - Accuracy
  F6PT - Analyzer and Monitor
  F6LT - LAN
  FALT - RS232
  FLLT - Trigger

DP832 up to v1.06 device options:
  first character:  M = official, 5 = trial
  MWSS - Trigger
  MWTB - Accuracy
  MWTC - LAN and RS232
  MWTE - Analyzer and Monitor

DS1000z device options:
  DSAB - Advanced Triggers
  DSAC - Decoders
  DSAE - 24M Memory
  DSAJ - Recorder
  DSBA - 500uV Vertical

DS2000 device options:
  first character:  D = official, V = trial
  DSAB - Advanced Triggers
  DSAC - Decoders
  DSAE - 56M Memory

careful that you don't lock your scope. I read it will lock up for something like 12 hours run time if the code fails too often.

Try opening the Command Prompt window and running the .exe from there rather than clicking on its icon on the desktop.

Also, in the riglol archive there should be a html version of the keygen that will open in your default browser (enable Javascript) and will run from there. You do not need to fill the "private key" box.

Note that DSER is the code for the keygen to unlock 100 MHz bw and all options _except_ the 500 uV vertical. DSER is not listed in the instruction but it is the one to use.

Yes, if you enter an invalid key three times you get put in the "penalty box" for 12 hours of actual scope runtime.

The app did generate a new code, different from the one provided by http://gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/, and the new code worked. UNLOCKED dser !

I had tried running .exe straight from the command prompt as well as from the icon, but my dumbass was spelling rigol
It wasn't until I was meticulously copying PAOPBZ's instructions I saw what I was doing...
Been a long time since working under command prompt...nah, that ain't it...back to the dumbass !

I saw via a youtube video that there is a firmware update of 00.04.04.01.01 but when I go to the www.rigolna.com website and check for a firmware download it gives me 00.04.03.02.03??
Could this be based on my hardware (serial number)??

00.04.04.01.01 has been temporarily withdrawn.

Instead of going to win folder , navigate to web folder instead.
And from there  double click on riglol.html , and You will smile
No need to fiddle with command prompt, if you don't want to
