Necessary test equipment

(1/1)

What different pieces of test gear (and leads, soldering, etc.)  would you consider necessary for a hobbyist who has been into electronics long enoufh to master the use of scopes, power supplies and sig gens.  Well...  what I'm trying ti asj, is that would my time be better spent working for test gear,  or to buy parts and things for projects.

Whatever you need. If you're working on a circuit and say "Damn, I'd really like to have $X to help me with this", then get $X. If you already have the essentials there's no need to go crazy with test equipment. Beyond scopes, power supplies and sig gens, most stuff has somewhat limited applications.
