Need advise for OWON multimeter
« on: May 15, 2015, 12:58:27 am »
Hi. I am new here. I saw OWON multimeter few days ago. It interests me. I found a thread here which mention about this tool. They has a indiegogo crowdfund. Many of you in the thread think it a bad machine. I am confused now. Could anyone give me some advise? I just buy it for home use.

Their crowfund site: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/owon-smart-bluetooth-digital-multimeter

No one can design a RF transmitting multimeter? Fluke? Gossen Metrawatt? Are you kidding?

Most of the CEM meters have integrated BT now, with far better specs than the Owon B35T.

It will depend on your budget and requirements. You will also need to check which models are available online. Check the spreadsheet on this site:

Oh, thank you. Data on your spreadsheets are very clearly. I will figure out about this. From a general seek, most of them are expensive than this OWON multimeter. I just use the multimeter for home use. Not for research, I think simple version of multimeter is fine.

Thank you. So kind of you. As I saw on their crowfund, OWON multimeter is 34/set. Maybe you can add it into your spreadsheet.
Besides, is this multimeter good enough for home use considering with its price?

If it really sells for 40$ when it is released and if it has good input protection with independent testing, it will be hard to beat for home use.

;) You strengthen my confidence. I will manage to buy one from their crowdfund. Hope it doesn't let me down.

It looks to me like a UT61 in disguise, with the same 250V fuse setup, with a BT module plugged in. It has the CE mark on the back, but doesn't comply with the European regulations. Not good.
The crowd funding is an advertising gimmick. The meter is available already for 85$.
