One half My Fluke DTX 1800 set (smart remote part) has died. Powers on, but then LEDs just randomly blink, seemingly under the influence of the presence of my hand near the meter. I'm thinking some GPIO pins are undefined/high impedance whilst CPU is not yet booted??
So far I have found one supply rail ( coming off an LT1763)reading near short to ground (0R4).
Main PCB is identical in both main and remote units, so I can compare any measurement.
This is an insanely dense/multilayered PCB and I think it will be tough to locate all components powered off this rail. Any tips to locate the component that is shorting the rail. Short of putting a bench supply on it and watching for smoke?
I've already eliminated the LDO itself and some tants that hang off the rail.
Maybe someone has a schematic /service manual??
