I also could not resist, and ordered this scope, Zeeweii DSO2512G from Aliexpress.
Shipping was described as "from Czech Republic to Czech Republic", and indeed in 9 days I received the parcel.

Nice little scope (+function generator). Control is more convenient than I thought, second functions are printed next to the buttons.
The case is excellent.
Enclosed printed manual is the best, it explains in detail how the oscilloscope works, even on the last page there are some tips how to set up the scope for complete beginners  :-+
AUTO works and is very fast.
X-Y mode works fine.
And not to forget FFT! It is almost identical to what Rigol offers on the DS1054z! ;)
If only this existed when i was young!
Every interested child today should have this oscilloscope available, next to the multimeter.
The price/utility ratio is great.

I am very satisfied!

They now have a home page with manuals (but no firmware):

Good to see an official web page, looks more professional than only a youtube channel and some shared files for the firmware.
I hope we'll see some firmware updates for the 2 channel version.

I've been using this scope for some time, and it has become my default scope (unless I need more than 2 channels).

But I was feeling that I needed a stand for it because:
  • It takes more space than its 1 channel brother.
  • Ergonomics: operating the buttons and seeing the screen is just much better with a stand.

So I made a small stand and after testing it, I am really pleased with the result.

Here you have attached the pictures where you can see the end result.

It has three main parts:

  • Top: This is what holds it in place, it enters underneath the scope rubber shield as shown.
  • Center: This is a glued sandwich made of 2 layers of cardboard surrounding an aluminum core plate.
  • Bottom: The scope rests on top of it, preventing it from slipping, it is recommended to add an end stop, In my case, 5mm of 0.5mm cardboard held using 3 staples.

Both the cardboard and aluminum sheet used are 0.5mm thick.

The whole thing can be stored in the scope bag (top part must be folded).

Here you have some pictures showing the dimensions.

I hope you find it useful.

For those interested, an additional note about the aluminium core, it is folded this way to make it rock solid.
The fold is about 5mm each side:

Some photos of the inside of the new revision. The SD card slot is too close to the power connector, and I'm not brave enough to take the can off.

Cool.  I am saving money for one IF I CAN DETERMINE which affordable handheld has ISOLATED CHANNELS.

(These can deter the need for expensive differential probes - a huge huge plus.)

Some testers don't seem to know about the overclocking mode: Menu -> Aux + [Up] (long).
In this mode the DSO2512G can measure up to 120MHz (Hardware:v9.14 / Firmware:v1.2.8C).
Of course, the amplitude drops a bit, but that may also be partly due to the 100MHz probes.
I don't have a dedicated signal generator for these frequency ranges, but I tested it with a small FM test transmitter.

Thanks for describing the undocumented features.
There is not enough CH1 - CH2 mode for differential measurements (
I hope this feature will be added in new versions of FW.

Thanks for describing the undocumented features.
I made a one-page cheat sheet for myself if you're interested.
The more hidden features are at the bottom of the table.

EDIT: Added updated version for FW:v1.2.8C+

Thank you @Aldo22, that's very helpful. Much more concise and clearer than the manual.

I just received my ZEEWEII DSO2512G from AliExpress.  While it's nice for the price, I have one major complaint.

The blue plastic/rubber holster & the hard case STINK!!  I mean it really STINKS!!
I have washed it & cleaned it will various products with no luck.  I am going to have to throw away the holster & case unless someone has an idea for getting rid of the nasty smell.

This is not normal.Mine has no smell at all, neither the case nor the holster.
I wonder if something went wrong during transport?
Did you report this to the seller?

Yes, I did notify the seller but have heard nothing back yet.

I'm not sure what could go wrong in transport to cause it to stink but the packaging was great with no apparent mishandling.
Perhaps the batch of holster & case I received has a manufacturing issue I would say the smell is left over from the mfr process.

I am disappointed because the scope is nice & works great with no smell and all the probes & cables are fine.

Maybe, but these are two very different materials, so that's a bit strange.
Does it smell chemically?

Yes, I would say it's a chemical smell.
Perhaps the holster smell leached onto the case or vise versa.

I took a series of screenshots so you can see what the DSO2512G can and can't do.
The square wave comes from a cheap Si5351 clock generator breakout ($4, see Image 1).
I'm using a 250MHz probe with a ground spring.
It is the same setup for the whole frequency range, the amplitude or PK-PK is therefore comparable.
From 40MHz the overclocking mode is used.

I took a series of screenshots so you can see what the DSO2512G can and can't do.
The square wave comes from a cheap Si5351 clock generator breakout ($4, see Image 1).

si5351 is a nice source, according to your screenshots, starting at 60.5 MHz screenshot aliasing probably appears. So, ADC sample rate is about 100-120 MHz.

it can be used as oscilloscope with the real bandwidth about 5-6 MHz, but it needs proper anti-alias filter to be installed.

Too high ripple on 8 and 12 MHz. Try to connect si5351 module with coax cable directly to the device and install pass through 50 Ω dummy load on device side for proper matching.

From 40MHz the overclocking mode is used.

What did you mean when saying "overclocking mode"?

More screenshots from the DSO2512G: Minimums.
3.18mV RMS and 1.1Hz

Try to keep the same horizontal resolution, but feed it with something like 1-2 MHz. What it shows on the screen?

if yo have signal generator, try to measure 1-2 MHz square wave AM modulated with 1-2 Hz sine and show what is on the screen

Beeing a newbie trying to learn "oscilloscopes", I had ordered these cheap items

Is this what you mean?
I am still experimenting with them -> learning!  ;D

From 40MHz the overclocking mode is used.
What did you mean when saying "overclocking mode"?

It means that the device has an OC mode. I had listed the corresponding bandwidths here.

I know it's strange -> rant, rant  ;)

I am getting a TinySA probably this week, it is already in Belgium.  :)
AM should be possible with this.
