Now I checked, they really are saved when turned off. But it stopped hanging after I pressed save from the menu. Even the save done sign appeared.
I remember earlier I turned on the auto power off after 15 minutes, and after turning it on it was turned off again. Maybe the settings were not saved before.

I've been running it for three hours now, so far everything is fine. I'm testing further

the save button is to save a screenshot at least with previous versions. If pressing save makes your scope stable at least you have a way to continue using the device, it's better than nothing. The new firmware looks really buggy.

Possibly a not very well tested backport of the DSO3D12 firmware?

Yes it could be. Instead of improving the software they decided to release different versions of pcb/firmware and right now there's so much confusion between the same model, the newest models are less stable than the previous one. In my opinions they took the wrong path.

In general, after this manipulation, it stopped glitching, I don’t think it’s because of the flux on the cable,
