Anritsu Calibration Tee constants for OSLN50-1
« on: May 10, 2024, 04:15:34 pm »
Does anyone have cal constants for this Tee cal kit?  They are not usually published because they are built in to Anritsu VNAs.

I've measured the delays but want to get the Cx and Lx values right for use to 6GHz.  Anyone with a VNA Master or relative may be able to bring up the values, I don't know.

Thanks.

Did you ever get these? I have searched and searched. I even used Grok and ChartGPT with no luck. If you will share at least the coefficient values it will be much appreciated.

complete cal constants for OSLN50A are published. but i cannot find anything for OSLN50. I have various Anritsu VNA and CAT devices but they dont show the cal constants. MT8220T shows the constants for OSLN50A.
However, I strongly believe the values for OSLN50 are equal to OSLN50A it's just that the packaging looks nicer and the BB load has a bit better return loss characteristics. I dont think the open and short are any different but I hope somebody could confirm for sure

I compared the short and open on OSLN50A-8 and OSLN50 over 30kHz-18GHz with my fieldfox.
I only have a very good but not excellent calibration kit from Maury that goes to 18GHz so I first calibrated the Fieldfox with that calibration kit.
then I measured the phase on OSLN50 short (this is 18GHz cal kit) and OSLN50A-8 short and they both match absolutely perfectly all the way to 18GHz. Less than 1 degree difference. So definitely the offset lengths of both must be equal 17.83mm

I did the same with the open standard on OSLN50 and OSLN50A-8 and they are absolutely identical up to 8GHz (less than 1 degree difference) but then they
deviate up to a maximum phase difference of 9 degrees at 18GHz.  Definitely the offset length must be equal again for sure (17.83mm)
Whether that small difference is because the capacitance coefficients are different or because my calibration may not have been perfect I dont know but I think since I am subtracting the two phases my calibration should not make a difference. Therefore perhaps the capacitance coefficients are a little bit different?

The values for OSLN50A-8 are published in the datasheet.
