New FNIRSI power supply.

(1/9) > >>

Fungus:
Following on from their new oscilloscope, looks like FNIRSI is making a power supply as well.

It's tiny. Looks a bit like one of those mini power supplies that down-to-earth Dave set on fire but in a nicer box and with more goodies.

It has outputs on front and back and the display rotates so you can use it vertically if the footprint is too big. Can be controlled by a PC!

But only with their software on windows, I did not see any protocol description.

It is rather expensive compared to a PSU from Gophert or Rek which have the mains power supply build in.

The screenshot shows a serial port:

If that's true then I bet it's not difficult to reverse engineer.

30 Euros is about half the price of a Gophert. You can easily add a switching power supply for the difference, repurpose an old laptop power supply or whatever (depending on what output voltages you need).

Gopherts have a big footprint once you've brought the wires from around the back and plugged in a mains lead.
