Are the Hantek differential probes any good? Such as HT8100?
« on: August 18, 2024, 10:40:25 pm »
Hello,
Recently, Dave reviewed the new Micsig differential probe. I couldn't help but notice that Hantek also offers differential probes, the HT8100/HT8050, for sale at much more reasonable prices. Not that they easily compare, but here's a crude table:

Micsig
Hantek
DC:>-80dB
DC:≥80dB
100kHz:>-60dB
100Hz:≥60dB
10MHz:>-30dB
1MHz:≥50dB

I can't seem to find any reviews of the Hantek probes. Does anyone know if the Hantek differential probes are any good with respect to other, more expensive, differential probes, like the new Micsig series?

Thanks!

I also spotted this probe, I'm looking for reviews about it too.

According to one review on aliexpress, HT8100 uses MAX436 and OPA698 chips

An alternative Micsig DP10007, should be enough for smps repair.

As a follow up, I went ahead and purchased an HT8100. I also purchased a Migsig MDP3001 later. I suspect that my oscilloscope's font end is a bit too loud to get a real idea of the CMRR of the probes, but if you look at the pictures I posted here: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/cmrr-measurement-am-i-doing-it-right/msg5635599/
You'll see that the HT8100 has a few spurs.
