Siglent SVA1015X input N terminals hot to the touch
« on: January 04, 2024, 02:34:37 pm »
Just as the title states.

I have a Siglent SVA1015X spec & VNA and I've noticed that the N-type connectors become quite warm after about 30-45 minutes and
would describe them as hot to the touch but not too hot to touch.

I've noticed that my rigol DSA815 input connectors also get warm but not as hot as the siglent. There is virtually no info about this in the manuals or online
that I could find.

What's exactly going on? Am I just being a noob and this is normal??  :(

Do they use the ground plane as some sort of heatsink?

Normal.

Yes of course.
I drive a LEC (low el. consumption) BEV car. Smoke exhaust pipes - go to museum. In Finland quite all electric power is made using nuclear, wind, solar and water.

Wises must compel the mad barbarians to stop their crimes against humanity. Where have the wises gone?
